ISSW 2020 Rescheduled
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the status of ISSW 2020?
ISSW 2020 has been rescheduled to October 3 - 8, 2021. The conference location in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada, will remain the same.
Why has ISSW 2020 been rescheduled?
The ISSW 2020 organizing committee puts the health and welfare of conference delegates and the local host community at the forefront of its decision making. The current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, combined with the uncertainty over its resolution, leads us to take this decision. Additionally, we recognize that domestic and international travel restrictions will almost certainly affect the ability of many delegates to participate.
I am an exhibitor and/or a sponsor. What happens to my agreement?
We are grateful for all our exhibitors and sponsors at this difficult time. We are transferring your agreement to the 2021 conference, with a guarantee of the same conditions as had been confirmed for 2020. Please contact our sponsorship chair at your earliest convenience to let us know if you have any questions about the transfer to 2021.
Will the abstract submission site remain open for submissions?
No. The ISSW 2020 abstract submission site is now closed and existing submissions will not be processed. A new abstract submission site will be available in January, 2021.
I already submitted an abstract. Will I have to resubmit my abstract for ISSW 2021?
Yes, you will need to upload your abstract submission again. The abstract submission site will reopen in January, 2021.
Will my accommodation reservation be refunded?
Please contact the property you have made your reservation with, as each property has its own cancellation policy.
Will my airfare be refunded?
Please contact your travel agent or airline directly and let them know you are cancelling or modifying your booking due to the postponement of this conference. The responsibility for travel bookings and refunds falls outside the scope of ISSW 2020 and will depend on the type of fare booked and any travel insurance coverage.
Is it still safe to travel to Canada even if ISSW is not being held this year?
Please check with Health Canada, as well as information from your own country or region, for the latest travel recommendations. The decision to travel is your choice and you are responsible for your personal safety abroad.
